She doesn't know how to use a computer which is why she relied on the blackberry (she didn't know how to use any other type of smart phone for her email. Blackberries were most obsolete during her tenure that they were not compatiable with the Department of State network. When she made phone calls, it was mostly from her office phone. She had to step outside of her office to use it because transmitting devices (secure or unsecure are not allowed in classified space. to an outsider this might sound like spycraft, but it is just a case of a 71 year old woman not knowing how to use modern technology.
